The Hurricane Cub Pack is for boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 10 1/2.
We meet on Fridays between 6pm and 7.30pm.
We try to include a variety of different activities in our weekly meetings, which could involve learning new skills, crafts, role play, sport and many others. Of course, there is normally time for a game or two as well! Guests from different walks of life will be invited to visit us, to inspire our youngsters in different pursuits and interests, and from time to time we will venture out into the wild blue yonder for the same reason.
All of the above is aimed at helping the Cubs achieve their Challenge badges over their time in the Pack, as well as activity badges when appropriate. We hope they will find their time with us informative as well as fun!
Friday June 30th 2017
as the weather may not be quite so kind to us this Friday, we've decided it would be a good time for some MEGA indoor fun and creativity.
Grown-ups are invited to accompany their Cubs to help them design and build the world's (well, at least Hempstead's) most awesome junk-modelling race track.
We'll split you into teams so that we have between 3-6 tracks being built, and at the end of the evening the Cubs will be invited to demonstrate how well a toy car can zoom along their track. A prize may even be awarded to the winning team!
Please bring cardboard or plastic junk modelling material with you, but please no metal or glass. We'll provide fixing tape and a back-up source of materials.
Siblings are welcome to attend also (as long as their grown-up has stayed to take part).
Regards, Akela and the team
Congratulations to those Members of the Spitfire and Hurricane Packs who were able to attend the District Award Ceremony on Saturday 6th May to receive a certificate from the Mayor of Medway in recognition of their achievement. Photo's are at the foot of the homepage, and in the Cubs 2017 gallery.
Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance - Wednesday 5th April 2017
The total raised from sponsorship of last November's Cub Incident Hike (including the wonderful £200 donation to our Group from BAE Systems Rochester) was £765.50.
The sum of £501.50 will be donated to the Air Ambulance Trust during a visit to its HQ in Marden on the above date. The Cubs from both Packs who raised the most in sponsorship have been invited on the visit.
The Cubs are retaining a total of £264 which has been spent on the Astrodome visit, the Airfix kits, and four complete Water Rokit set-ups.
